Integrative Healing – Trauma-Informed Care

The compassionate, neuroscience-based path to recovery and self-trust.

A New Way Forward
If you’ve found that hands-on therapies like osteopathy, chiropractic care, massage, or physiotherapy bring only temporary relief, it might be time to explore something deeper. Integrative Healing combines gentle, neuroscience-based mind–body therapies with compassion and understanding to help you move beyond short-term relief and create lasting change. This approach is for those living with the effects of stress, trauma, or chronic pain who are ready to move from coping to truly healing.

Please note: Integrative Healing and trauma-informed sessions are offered exclusively by Dr Alison Simmons.

About Alison
With a medical honours degree in Osteopathy and over 20 years as a registered practitioner, Alison brings deep clinical experience to her work. During her training, she received the Professional Capability Award, presented by HRH Princess Anne, recognising exceptional empathy and integrity in patient care.

Having also walked her own path through early trauma, Alison understands the burden of silence that so often comes with it — the shame, self-blame, and quiet shrinking that make people feel unseen and unworthy. Many carry their pain privately for years, believing they have to hold it all together. Alison knows that healing begins the moment you feel truly safe to be seen and heard — when kindness replaces judgement, and your story can finally breathe. Her work is grounded in creating that safety, so you can begin releasing what’s been held inside for far too long.

Her practice is guided by lived experience, kindness, and a pay-it-forward philosophy — sharing the wisdom gained from her own healing journey to help others find freedom more quickly than she once could. She believes that charging fairly for her time allows her to offer the highest standard of care, ensuring her work remains sustainable and deeply present for every client. Nothing you share will shock her — your story will always be met with warmth, safety, and respect.

Integrative Healing - Havening Techniques - Alison Simmons Well Adjusted Osteo

How Integrative Healing Works
These sessions gently calm the nervous system and help the body and mind release protective
patterns created by trauma. Each appointment blends approaches that best suit you on the day: sometimes hands-on osteopathic support for realignment, sometimes gentle, neuroscience-based touch or talk work for emotional release.

Havening Techniques®
A soothing, neuroscience-based method that uses gentle touch to help the brain de-link distress from memory and create a lasting sense of calm. Renowned therapist Paul McKenna is a passionate advocate of Havening, recognising its power to help people overcome anxiety, trauma, and self-doubt.

An actual session is much more than a demonstration — it’s a process of gentle unravelling, like peeling back layers of an onion. As each issue resolves, space opens for deeper healing to emerge.

OldPain2Go®
A simple but effective mind–body process that helps the brain switch off outdated pain messages that no longer serve a purpose. By addressing the subconscious reasons pain persists, it often brings surprising and lasting relief.

Sound Therapy
Subtle vibrational work to restore balance and coherence throughout the nervous system — especially helpful when the body has been ‘on alert’ for too long.

What to Expect
Your healing begins with an Initial Holistic & Trauma-Informed Consultation (two sessions). Alison will explore your medical and emotional history, perform a gentle physical assessment, and begin treatment to address both immediate and underlying concerns. From there, sessions progress at your pace — whether focusing on physical pain, emotional regulation, or deeper integration of body and mind.

Why Kindness Matters
True healing starts with safety and compassion. Kindness allows the nervous system to relax, the body to release, and self-worth to rebuild. Every session is grounded in the belief that years of trauma do not have to take years to heal when the right conditions of understanding and empathy are present.

Ready to Begin?
You don’t have to carry it all anymore. Take the first step toward feeling lighter, calmer, and more yourself. When healing is grounded in kindness, change happens faster than you think.

Appointment Types & Booking Information

The Integrative Healing Pathway
This structured, trauma-informed program combines osteopathy, neuroscience-based therapies, and emotional recalibration. Each stage builds upon the last, guiding you through physical realignment, emotional release, and long-term balance.

Stage 1A & 1B – Initial Holistic & Trauma-Informed Consultation
(Conducted over two linked appointments – 75–90 mins + 60 mins, booked together)

Your pathway begins here. These two sessions focus on restoring physical balance and preparing your body for deeper mind–body work. Stage 1A includes a full osteopathic examination, medical and emotional history review, and initial treatment. Stage 1B follows soon after, continuing physical rebalancing and ensuring your body feels safe and ready for emotional healing.

Stage 2 – Integrative Healing: Mind–Body Reset (75–90 mins)
Building on the stability created in Stage 1, this stage focuses on emotional and neurological healing. It does not include osteopathy but instead uses Havening Techniques® and OldPain2Go® to help calm the nervous system, release emotional blocks, and reset pain or stress responses. This may be the first session where you begin active trauma-processing work if you and Alison agree the time is right.

Stage 3 – Ongoing Healing & Pain Reset (up to 75 mins)
This stage continues or deepens the emotional therapy begun in Stage 2. Sessions use Havening, OldPain2Go®, and sound therapy to reinforce emotional regulation, build resilience, and integrate change. The focus is on long-term healing and restoring your sense of self and connection.

Stage 4 – Review & Rebalance (up to 75 mins)
Usually around session 6–7. This stage is a reflective and restorative appointment to review your progress, reassess physical and emotional alignment, and plan your next steps together.

Ongoing Care Beyond Stage 4
Healing is a journey, not a single destination. While some people find significant change within a few sessions, others may need more time for deeper layers of emotion or trauma to unwind. It’s common to cycle back through Stages 3 and 4 several times as new insights emerge and integration continues.

Even after a sense of resolution is reached, life can bring new challenges or stressors that may resurface old patterns. At these times, returning for a Review & Rebalance or additional Ongoing Healing & Pain Reset sessions can help you stay centred and connected.

Some clients also find that occasional follow-up sessions provide a helpful space for reflection and emotional maintenance — a way to keep their wellbeing aligned as life evolves.

Your Healing Journey
Many of Alison’s patients have lived for years with pain, trauma, or the feeling of being “stuck.” These sessions are designed to help you move gently from coping to truly healing — releasing the past, restoring your body’s balance, and reconnecting to yourself with compassion and confidence. Healing takes time, but every step you take is a step toward freedom. You don’t have to walk that road alone.

Booking, Payment & Fund Guidelines

1. Payment & Deposits
• All appointments require a 50% deposit at the time of booking.
• Deposits are non-refundable for no-shows or cancellations made within 24 hours, as per our Terms & Conditions.
• The remaining balance is payable at the end of your session.

2. Health Fund & Medicare Coverage
• Health fund rebates apply only when osteopathy is included (which is uncommon after the initial sessions).
• Medicare and Mental Health Care Plans cannot be used for Havening or OldPain2Go® sessions.

3. Forms & Pre-Session Preparation
• When booking your Initial Consultation, you’ll receive medical and trauma intake forms to complete before attending the clinic.
• Completing these forms ensures your first appointment is safe, personalised, and focused entirely on your healing.

4. Important Considerations
• All clients, including returning osteopathy patients, must start with an Initial Consultation (1A & 1B).
• After your initial consultation, sessions usually progress in this order:
  1. Integrative Healing Session → 2. Continuing Care → 3. Review & Rebalance.
• While gentle osteopathy may be included where needed, ongoing sessions are primarily trauma-informed, mind–body therapies.

How to Book
1. Start with an Initial Consultation (1A & 1B) – required for all clients.
These two linked sessions allow time for a full physical and emotional assessment and help prepare your body and mind for deeper healing work.

2. Book your Integrative Healing Session (third appointment).
This stage begins your mind–body reset using gentle, neuroscience-based techniques such as Havening Techniques® and OldPain2Go®, helping to calm your nervous system and release stored stress.

3. Continue with Ongoing Healing & Pain Reset sessions, and later we’ll collaborate to plan your Review & Rebalance, usually around session 6–7.
Healing is rarely a straight line — it’s completely normal to cycle back through Stages 3 and 4 as new insights, emotions, or life challenges arise. Many clients return for additional sessions over time to deepen their healing, maintain balance, or simply to process and integrate life’s experiences.

If you’re unsure where to start, please contact the clinic — we’re here to guide you and ensure your first session is comfortable, safe, and supportive.
